The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Flagstaff regional office will host another of its free lunchtime wildlife talks at noon on Friday, Feb. 17, at 3500 S. Lake Mary Road.
This informative talk will discuss the types of waterfowl found in Arizona, great locations near Flagstaff to view waterfowl, and interesting tidbits on how to identify different birds.
Do you know what a duck sounds like? You will also get a chance to hear a few duck calls and sounds during the talk.
While becoming a duck expert, you can nibble on a tasty pita wrap from the Pita Pit located near downtown Flagstaff.
Future talks in the lunchtime series will include the following topics:
- March 16 - Watchable wildlife in Northern Arizona: Where to go and what will I see?
- April 20 - Localvores and invasivores: Benefits of harvesting and eating your local wild food.
- May 18 - What’s cooking? Fish and game meat recipes.
- June 15 - 4FRI: What is the Four Forest Restoration Initiative?
“The talks are only one hour and are a great way to learn about Arizona’s fascinating wildlife and outdoor activities during your lunch hour,” says Shelly Shepherd, public information officer for Game and Fish. “The talks are free and we encourage everyone to bring a friend.”
